Based in Essex, Creature Coaching is a specialist bird training service led by Puri, with over 20 years of experience working with parrots, exotic birds, and birds of prey. We work with owners, keepers, and professionals who want to improve behaviour, welfare, and the day-to-day life of their birds.
Why We Started
This service came from a real need for clearer, more practical support for bird owners. Over the years, we have seen many people struggling with behaviour issues such as biting, screaming, poor recall, stress behaviours, and handling difficulties.
A lot of this comes down to confusion, inconsistent advice, and a lack of understanding around how birds actually learn and behave. In many cases, this leads to frustration for both the keeper and the bird, and sometimes even rehoming situations that could have been avoided.
Our Experience and Mission
Our aim is to change that by giving people straightforward, effective support that actually works in real life. We focus on helping owners and professionals understand behaviour properly, so they can build better routines, reduce stress, and improve welfare.
Whether it is a companion parrot at home or a bird of prey in a working environment, the goal is the same. Better understanding leads to better behaviour and a stronger bond between bird and keeper.
Sharing Knowledge and Raising Standards
We work with a wide range of bird species, from parrots through to birds of prey used in education and display work. We are also passionate about improving standards in bird training and care wherever possible.
Alongside private clients, we support wildlife centres and bird keepers with practical training advice, enrichment ideas, and handling techniques. The focus is always on improving welfare and making sure birds are engaged, confident, and well cared for.
Our Training Philosophy
We only use positive reinforcement based training with all birds. There is no force, fear, or punishment involved at any stage.
Everything is built around trust and consistency. Birds are given time to learn at their own pace, with clear rewards for the behaviours we want to see. This approach helps reduce stress, improve confidence, and strengthen the relationship between bird and keeper in a safe and ethical way.
